Buttery Garlic Spinach With Bacon

This low carb dish is AWESOME to have on the side 🙂 Not only is it low carb its keto approved as well 🙂

Buttery Garlic Spinach With Bacon

Ingredients
5 tablespoons butter
5 cloves garlic minced
1 bag baby spinach
5 strips bacon cooked and crumbled
1 tsp salt

Instructions
Heat up a skillet and add the butter. Add garlic and saute until aromatic.
Add the spinach into the skillet, follow by cooked, crumbled bacon, stir to combine. Add salt if desired.
As soon as the spinach leaves start to wilt, turn off the heat and transfer to a serving platter.
Serve immediately.

 

Set Yourself Free

We have all come across people in our lives who have hurt us in some way, that hurt can be devastating, the way they have talked to us, the way they have used us, the way they have treated us. But it all on how you deal with that that can either set you free or cripple you for life. So many times I have talk about walking away. Walking away doesn’t mean you’re giving up, its means you have had enough and will no longer stand to be treated like a doormat, you will no longer let someone’s negative attitude bring you down, you will no longer be hurt by their words and selfishness. I always say treat others the way you want to be treated. So if you treat people with love and respect and in turn they treat you poorly always saying rude things to you and using you as a doormat, putting you down all the time, do you really want to be in that kind of relationship? I know I would not want to be.
People who are unhappy with their lives always will put others down, are negative about everything and will lie about things to make themselves look good. Sometimes in life people change, they grow apart and no longer are on the same page as you, and it’s ok to say “I have had enough” it’s ok to walk away, its ok to break free from that negativity and ignorance. YOU have to make that choice and set yourself Free from it all. I have done it many times in my life. I rather live positive, be truthful, respect others, and walk in love and happiness, than bitterness and negativity. Life is a choice, what way are you going to chose to live it?

7 Day Weight Loss Soup

Remember: This diet should only be followed for 7 days at a time, with at least two weeks in between.

Day One:
Fruit: Eat all of the fruit you want (except bananas). Eat only your soup and the fruit for the first day. For drinks- unsweetened teas, cranberry juice, and water.

Day Two:
Vegetables: Eat until you are stuffed with all fresh, raw or cooked vegetables of your choice. Try to eat leafy green vegetables and stay away from dry beans, peas, and corn. Eat all the vegetables you want along with your soup. At dinner, reward yourself with a big baked potato with butter. Do not eat fruit today.

Day Three:
Mix Days One and Two: Eat all the soup, fruits and vegetables you want. No Baked Potato.

Day Four:
Bananas and Skim Milk: Eat as many as eight bananas and drink as many glasses of skim milk as you would like on this day, along with your soup. This day is supposed to lessen your desire for sweets.

Day Five:
Beef And Tomatoes: Ten to twenty ounces of beef and up to six fresh tomatoes. Drink at least 6 to 8 glasses of water this day to wash the uric acid from your body. Eat your soup at least once this day. You may eat broiled or baked chicken instead of beef (but absolutely no skin-on chicken). If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for beef on one of the beef days (but not both).

Day Six:
Beef and Vegetables: Eat to your heart’s content of beef and vegetables this day. You can even have 2 or 3 steaks if you like, with leafy green vegetables. No Baked Potato. Eat your soup at least once.

Day Seven:
Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juices, and vegetables: Again stuff, stuff, stuff yourself. Be sure to eat your soup at least once this day.

Day 8 and Beyond:
The Cabbage Soup Diet is not suitable for long-term weight loss. The Diet is a low-fat, high-fiber diet that will help you drop some pounds fast before you embark on a healthier, long-term eating plan.

7 Day Weight Loss Soup recipe
Ingredients
  • 1/2 head cabbage chopped
  • 1 cup celery diced
  • 1 cup white or yellow onion diced
  • 1 cup carrots diced
  • 1 large green bell pepper diced
  • 2-3 cloves garlic minced
  • 4 cups chicken broth
  • 1 (14oz) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1/2 teaspoon cayenne pepper
Instructions
  1. Heat 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
  2. Add celery, onions, bell peppers, and carrots.
  3. Saute until slightly tender.
  4. Stir in garlic.
  5. Pour in chicken broth.
  6. Stir in tomatoes and cabbage.
  7. Bring to a boil and then reduce heat.
  8. Cook until cabbage is tender.
  9. Stir in oregano, basil, red pepper flakes, black pepper and salt (if using)
  10. Taste broth and adjust seasoning if needed.

Don’t waste your life trying to impress people to be happy, you will never be free if you do, as the longer you try to impress others the more unhappy you will be. Think of Jesus, he never cared what other thought of him, He went about doing his work and not giving a care to what others thought, He knew what He was doing was RIGHT and that was preaching God’s word. Not everyone will do what you want them too, not everyone will think the way you do, no one person is the same. Some people live lives full of bitterness and resentment, and you will NEVER be able to please these types of people. Remember that God did not make you to be a doormat, to be used and abused. Is life really worth walking around stressed out and bitter all the time?? YES you can forgive these people but that does not mean you have to have a relationship with them. I have forgiven many people in my lifetime for the pain they caused me, BUT I do not chose to have a relationship with them, because if I do I will be walking down that same path I did before and for me it is NOT WORTH living like that . Sometime you have to accept that people will not change and you can not change them, MOVE ON. I have STOPPED trying to impress people and please them, I know who I am, I know my heart and so does God and that’s what matters <3
Everyone’s attitude belongs to them and nobody can give you a bad or good attitude, that’s your RESPONSIBILITY and your CHOICE to control. If you’re motivated to lose weight you will, right? Well, not exactly. While motivation is important to help you reach your goals, inspiration gets you there more easily!

When you’re motivated to reach a goal, it usually means there’s something in your life you want to change. You’re focused on what you don’t want, rather than on what you do want. For example, you’re motivated to lose weight because you’re inspired to be thinner. Motivation signifies hard work, determination and persevering through the tough times. That’s important, but also draining. When we’re inspired, we’re uplifted and energized by what we want. Inspiration means “to breathe life into.” So when we’re inspired to change something in our life, our inspiration breathes life into our actions. It becomes easy and effortless, even fun! Motivation alone is drudgery. Motivation with inspiration is joyous.

Here are three tips for breathing life into your weight release plan to create an inspired journey!

1. Draw Inspiration from Reading posts and testimonies here in Jax Skinny Friends!!!

No matter where you are right now in your weight release journey, know that someone else was at that same place and they got to the other side. When we witness other people doing what we want to do, and overcoming even greater odds, we envision our own success. When you read other members’s remarkable success stories, you expand your belief of what’s possible. Let these amazing people inspire you. Learn what helped them and apply those steps to see what works for you. These people did it; you will too! 

2. Remind Yourself Why You Want to Lose Weight

In the beginning, something inspired you to lose weight. But later, when you focus on reducing numbers on a scale, it can feel like hard work. It’s the deeper meaning of losing weight that inspires us. To access that inspiration, draw your attention to the underlying essence of what you want. For example, you may want to lose weight so you can walk up a flight of stairs effortlessly or you want to pick up your child with ease.

Here’s a simple, uplifting writing exercise that helps you connect more deeply with why you want to release weight. Simply complete the sentence, “I want to release weight because…….” Fully write out this phrase with each reason important to you. By focusing on the essence of why you want to release weight, you activate the seeds of inspiration that nourish your motivation. 

3. Give Your Body a Special Gift

Sometimes we can be so focused on the longer term outcome of weight loss that we lose sight of the special love and attention our bodies need from us right now. Add inspiration to your weight release journey by offering your body a loving gift. Your gift could be as luxurious as giving your body a massage or facial, or it could be the gift of words by making a point of talking to your body with love and respect for a day. Deciding to do something special for your body keeps you focused on treating it with care. By finding ways to honor your body you strengthen your relationship with it. And nothing is more inspirational to weight loss success than having a strong, respectful relationship with your own body.

1.Accept that Life isn’t fair. You’ve probably heard this a hundred times by now, but the sooner you acknowledge it, the happier you’ll be in the long run.

2. Stop complaining. Those who complain the most accomplish the least. If you havea problem, take responsibility and do something about it. If it’s a problem you have no control over, let go of it. There’s no point suffering over a problem you cannot solve.

3. Master your emotions. Remember: You are in charge of your body and mind, not the other way around. Doctors, self-help books, and medication are there to help you if you have extreme issues controlling your emotions.

4. Learn a relaxation technique. Meditation, as well as yoga, self-hypnosis, and light exercise are great ways to ward off stress and keep your mind sharp.

5. Accept your heart’s desires. Many people ignore their hopes and dreams. Blocking out what you truly want will only lead to unhappiness and lack of fulfillment. Accept what you want, and do what it takes to get it.

6. If you have a goal, a dream job, etc., start working on it now. Not tomorrow, not in a week, not in a year,now. Stop procrastinating! The longer you put it off, the harder it will become to achieve, and the less time you’ll have to reap the fruits of your labor.

7. If you’re not satisfied with something, do something about it. If you want to lose weight, make goals to eat less and exercise more. If you’re unhappy in your relationship, talk to your partner. If you don’t enjoy your job, quit. Whatever you do, don’t complain and don’t make excuses.

8. Take responsibility for your actions. Never blame anyone or anything else for your blunders. Be responsible for your own actions, and others will appreciate and admire you for it.

9. Learn something new every day. The day you stop learning is the day you start growing old. Always be on the lookout for new learning opportunities.

10. Learn from your mistakes. Every mistake you make is a valuable learning experience. A failure is only a failure if you learned nothing from it.

11. Get rid of negative influences. Friends and family that bring you down are not worth being around. Let go of them, and instead surround yourself with people that motivate and inspire you.

12. Let go of the past. Drop your grudges, forget your revenge plots, and let go of your hatred of past enemies. Remember: You live in the present, so think like it.

You build on failure. You use it as a stepping stone. Close the door on the past. You don’t try to forget the mistakes, but you don’t dwell on it. You don’t let it have any of your energy, or any of your time, or any of your space.

13. Eliminate any and all self-limiting beliefs. Never say, “I can’t do this.” “I’ll never be good enough.” “I could never do that.” Even if the odds are stacked against you, self-limiting beliefs will only make it worse.

14. Never try to change people. People very rarely change, and the chances of you changing somebody are slim to none. Use the time you would spend changing someone to improve yourself instead.

15. Don’t become part of a self-fulfilling prophecy. If you say, “I will never get the job”, you probably won’t. If you say, “My friends are going to abandon me”, they certainly will. Thinking negatively about your situations can do nothing but worsen them. Being positive can only help.

16. Aim for win-win situations. Never willingly sacrifice another person’s happiness for your own.

17. Cut loose every once in awhile. Having fun does not always mean being immature. And even then, it’s okay to be immature sometimes. Enjoy yourself!

18. Practice good hygiene, dress well and learn good posture. It’ll improve how you feel about yourself and how others feel about you.

19. Treat others as you expect to be treated, and you are more likely to be treated that way in return.

20. Respect other people, regardless of their political beliefs, religious beliefs or sexual preferences. Likewise, never push your own beliefs onto others.

21. Look forward to the future, but live in the now. Never say such things as, “I’ll be happy when I get promoted next year”, or “I’ll only be happy once my son is old enough to move out.” It’s okay to look forward and build up for the future, but never forget that you live in the present.

22. Be persistent with your goals. Talent and knowledge alone will never lead you to success. Persistence rewards talent, not the other way around. Persevere, and you will be rewarded.

23. Trust yourself. Learn to trust others. It is better and healthier to put trust in many than to doubt all.

24. Get rid of bad habits. Better yet, replace your bad habits with good habits. If you’re a heavy soda drinker, find a new drink that satisfies you, such as tea or juice. If you smoke, try vapors.

25. Get organized. Learn to plan ahead. Never procrastinate. Keep your house free of clutter, your mind clear, and your tasks simple, and your stress will take wing and fly away.

26. Use positive reinforcement. It might sound corny to stand in front of a mirror and say, “I am beautiful” or “I am a wonderful person”, but it works. And it will always work better than saying, “I’m ugly” or “I’m worthless”.

27. Force a smile every once in awhile. It’s impossible to smile and feel down at the same time.

28. Accept who you are. Accept your shortcomings, even if you have to live with them for the rest of your life. Likewise, be thankful for what you have.

29. Stay busy. Don’t waste your time sitting around moping. There are an infinite number of things for you to do; do them!

30. Keep your mind open to new possibilities. Be ready to accept that you might be wrong about something you’ve always assumed was true. Reality is not always as it seems, and you must be prepared for it to change at all times.

31. Work smarter, not harder. Working harder has its benefits, but working smarter will reap infinitely more.

33. Learn how to cook. Cooking is generally healthier than living on a diet of microwave food and fast food. And you do have the time, trust me.

34. Stop suffering. Suffering is almost always pointless. Many people let themselves suffer without realizing they don’t have to. Let yourself be happy, no matter how hard or stressful your life is.

35. Be who you want to be. Never let anyone else tell you what you should do. Build your own destiny, and fulfill it.

36. Be honest with yourself. Deep down you know what you truly want, and you know how the world really is. Don’t spend your life wrapped in a delusion.

37. Help when you can. The more kindness you give out, the more kindness you will receive in return. Try to help those in need, even if you don’t think you can.

38. Appreciate what you have. There are people out there who would love to have as much as you do, even if you don’t think you have much.

39. Keep life simple. We as humans make life a lot more complicated than it really is.

40. No matter who you are, no matter your gender, skin color, ethnicity, political affiliations, or religious beliefs, remember this: You are great. You are awesome. You are unique. Never let anyone convince you otherwise, including yourself.
